Many early-built wastewater treatment plants are undergoing upgrades, and the existing civil engineering spaces in many older plants are already fixed, with limited equipment room widths that prevent the installation of traditional horizontal centrifuges. In underground wastewater treatment plants, all equipment is housed within underground enclosures, where limited space in equipment passageways and rooms imposes strict restrictions on the lateral width of the equipment. JGD Environmental's LW series horizontal screw discharge sedimentation centrifuge, under the same treatment capacity and separation factors, reduces the overall width by 20-30% compared to horizontal models, making it ideal for space-constrained scenarios such as upgrades to older plants, underground wastewater treatment plants, and GMP cleanrooms.

Traditional horizontal decanter centrifuges have a horizontally arranged main shaft, resulting in a large overall width. During the renovation of older wastewater treatment plants, insufficient doorways and equipment room passageways often prevent the equipment from being installed. The LW decanter centrifuge, with its vertically arranged drum, distributes the weight of the equipment vertically, significantly reducing its lateral width. The LW-250 has a width of only 750mm, and the LW350 has a width of 950mm. Horizontal centrifuges of the same specifications are over 1200mm wide, offering a significant advantage for projects with limited space.

In terms of performance, the core technical parameters of the LW series decanter centrifuges are comparable to those of their horizontal counterparts. The LW-250 model has a separation factor of 4235G, a 31% improvement over horizontal models of the same specifications, making it more suitable for separating fine materials. The LW-350 and 430 models have separation factors on par with the horizontal models, retaining the dual-motor, dual-frequency conversion energy feedback drive, BD plate clarification structure, replaceable hard alloy wear-resistant parts, and a full set of safety protection devices for torque, vibration, and temperature. The separation effect and wear resistance are consistent with the horizontal models.

The decanter centrifuge features a fully enclosed structure, ensuring all materials are separated within a sealed chamber. This prevents odor and sludge leakage, facilitating hygienic polishing. Besides wastewater treatment plants, it is also suitable for pharmaceutical GMP and food HACCP cleanroom production facilities. The equipment allows for low-level feeding, adapting to some underground wastewater treatment plant process pipeline layouts. The complete decanter centrifuge system can also be integrated with a PY3 flocculation dosing system, a shaftless screw conveyor, and a PLC automatic control system to form a complete sludge dewatering unit, supporting remote monitoring via the plant's DCS central control system.

In upgrading projects of older wastewater treatment plants, after the removal of existing plate and frame filter presses and belt filter presses, the existing equipment foundations and space are limited, making it impossible to install a horizontal centrifuge. The LW decanter centrifuge can utilize existing space for equipment replacement, eliminating the need for large-scale civil engineering modifications and saving on technical upgrade investment. Underground wastewater treatment plant enclosures have limited internal space. Vertical centrifuges save lateral space, optimize the layout of underground equipment rooms, reduce the scale of underground enclosure construction, and save on total project investment.

The LW decanter series mainly covers small to medium-sized units; no large models above 650 are developed. They are suitable for small to medium-sized wastewater treatment plants, renovations of existing plants, underground wastewater treatment plants, and pharmaceutical and food processing workshops. For ultra-large capacity projects, the horizontal LW series remains the preferred choice. JGD Environmental Protection will conduct on-site assessments of space and pipeline conditions based on customer drawings to recommend the optimal horizontal or vertical solution. Local non-standard adjustments can also be made according to site conditions.

With the continuous advancement of wastewater treatment plant upgrades and the construction of underground wastewater treatment plants in China, space constraints have become a significant limiting factor in equipment selection for many projects.JGD Environmental Protection's LW decanter centrifuges provide a new selection path for space-constrained conditions, balancing equipment performance with site conditions, facilitating the smooth implementation of wastewater treatment plant renovation projects, and providing diverse domestic solid-liquid separation equipment options for water environment treatment projects.
